Group Sessions

There are times when group sessions can offer the support you need. For some people looking for support for weight management, there are many beneficial tools and strategies which can help address the challenges that people face – whether it’s identifying goals and values and thinking strategies to support choices that align with these; understanding and responding to cravings, habit change, mindful eating, motivation. This forms the psycho-education part of therapy, these themes being common to people seeking support to manage their weight.

This psychoeducation motivates you to create your own behavioural experiments in the intervening week. You might choose to put into practice what you have learned.

Most sessions are complemented by hypnosis which supports you to enact the changes you wish to make and you get a copy of this to keep so you can use it for support any time that suits you.

An advantage of group sessions (whether online or in person) is that it provides a sense of community and a reassuring element of peer support. Whilst there is no obligation or expectation that you share personal information with the group, some people find the group attendance gives them a sense of accountability.

Whilst group sessions provide a cost effective and more generic approach to cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, they may not provide the level of support offered by bespoke 1 : 1 sessions where you get the opportunity to really focus on the what’s keeping you stuck, the underlying beliefs that drive your current thoughts and actions.
